Professional Profile

Agent/Broker Working in Commercial Real Estate Since 1996

Donnie Brainard, President & Qualifying Broker of Alameda Property Group, LLC. I’m responsible for developing, selling, leasing and managing over 38 million square feet of land, retail and office space within the city limits of Las Cruces, New Mexico. My projects boast some of the largest private investments for the City of Las Cruces in recent history as well as creating thousands of jobs for the local community. I have been awarded the “40 under 40”, 5 times by the New Mexico Business Weekly. This honor is given to the top 40 business men and women in the State of New Mexico under the age of 40. My “no nonsense approach” to business and strong integrity has given me a solid and trustworthy reputation in my community.

Preceding my entrance to the commercial real estate arena, I worked as a Producer for a New York/Los Angeles entertainment company. During my tenure, I created the multi-Emmy winning show “Win Ben Stein’s Money” which launched the career of Jimmy Kimmel, as well as producing multiple television shows which aired worldwide and included such politicians and stars as: President Bill Clinton, Will Smith, Lou Rawls, David Hasselhoff, Jody Watley, Keith Sweat, Peabo Bryson, Isley Brothers, Jennifer Holliday, Blackstreet, Maxi Priest, Shaggy, Alex Trebek, Gladys Knight, Boyz II Men, Jon Secada, Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Tito Puente, Angela Bassett, Brooke Burns and many more.

Prior to my work in Hollywood, I proudly served six years in the United States Navy, two of which I spent onboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger CV-61 and 4 years at Naval Air Station Miramar “Top Gun”. During my stay in the U.S. Navy, I was involved in multiple deployments including the 1989 Western Pacific Cruise (WestPac). While deployed on the 1989 WestPac, our ship patrolled the Persian Golf and provided support for the Omani and Royal Thai Air Forces. For my service in the United States Navy, I received the Meritorious Unit Commendation (x2), Battle Efficiency Award, Sea Service Ribbon, Humanitarian Service, Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon Persian Golf (x2), and the Navy Expeditionary Medal Operations. In addition, I received a Commendation for opening the flight deck while in port to allow for helicopters to land and transfer badly needed fire fighting equipment to the USS Constellation which was on fire off the coast of San Diego. I was credited for saving lives during this emergency operation. On the 3rd of August 1989, our ship rescued 39 Vietnamese refugees, adrift for 10 days on a barge in heavy seas and monsoon rains in the South China Sea, about 80 miles from NAS Cubi Point. An A-6 Intruder from VA-145 spotted the barge, which had apparently broken loose from its mooring near a small island off the coast of Vietnam with 10 men on board. Twenty-nine other refugees from a sinking refugee boat climbed aboard the barge when it drifted out to sea.

I am a native of New Mexico, my family roots date back in New Mexico to the late 1800’s. My great, great grandfather, John Wilson, was the very first US Attorney in New Mexico following statehood. My great, great grandmother, Cora Wilson, was one of the founders of the Albuquerque Symphony.
